Bernita Bailey has more than 20 years of banking experience.  She has served in various leadership roles throughout her career and currently serves as the Suburban Maryland Market President of Truist, previously BB&T and SunTrust Bank. Bernita is responsible for leading the commercial banking team in the coordination and promotion of the Bank's business initiatives within the Montgomery and Prince George's County community.

 

In her current role, Bernita – along with her team – devote their time, experience and talents to create successful outcomes for their clients and for the community. They assist enterprises that generate revenue up to $75M in the areas of Capital Formation, Treasury Solutions, Risk Management, Employee Benefits, Wealth Management and Business Strategic Advisory Services.

 

Bernita serves as a corporate advisory board member for BUILD Prince George’s, and The Wilson Baker Academy School of Excellence. She is also a board member of the Truist African American Affinity Business Resource Group and volunteers at various local charitable organizations.

 

Bernita holds a degree in Business Management from Hampton University and is a native of Prince George’s County, MD. She resides in Bowie, MD with her husband and two kids. Bernita’s passion around helping business owners achieve their goals comes from watching her father start his business over 35 years ago and the positive impact his business had on the community.
