A Word From Our Founder
Creating a conference for women in business has been a dream of mine for years, and it is finally becoming a reality. For me, this is personal. I understand the plight of women entrepreneurs because I lived it. When I launched my first business, I was a young person with a dream, but without the resources or relationships to succeed. This led to the catastrophic loss of my salon.
Now, I’ve made it my mission to make sure that never happens to women like myself again. I learned so much from that experience, but the biggest lesson was that entrepreneurs are not islands. Our success or failure depends on the relationships we make with investors, media, and customers.
Today, I’ve been blessed to take my business to the next level, and I’ve gotten a chance to build strong relationships through my role as a member of the National Women’s Business Council; my work with the Small Business Administration; my media appearances with outlets like Fox, the Washington Business Journal, and ABC; and my experience with banks, lenders, investors, and women’s business organizations like WBENC, the WPO, and more. As the doors opened to these crucial resources and relationships, I discovered a whole new world that I want to share. StartHer ScaleHer is how I intend to do that. I want you to learn from my mistakes and successes so that you can start and scale your business without falling victim to the many challenges we face as women in business.

The Conference
The StartHer ScaleHer movement is unlike any other conference you’ve attended. There will be panels and speakers, but most importantly, you’ll build invaluable relationships. This conference will put you in front of key decision makers—those who provide capital, those who have expertise in the industry, and those who make million-dollar contracts, in order to help you start and scale your business successfully.
The full-day event will bring together a select group of 200 women, and you don’t want to miss your chance to be one of these elite entrepreneurs. StartHers and ScaleHers will learn from business leaders in panels, and then meet with those leaders one-on-one in round table and workshop settings. How often do you get to sit across the table from the vice president of a commercial bank, the producer of a media outlet, or the executive of a multi-million dollar corporation?
At StartHer ScaleHer, you’ll get a seat at the table with experts and executives, where you will create personal connections and learn inside secrets that will be vital as you start and scale your business. That’s what makes this conference unique—the intimate and exclusive introductions that allow you to build lasting relationships.
In addition to business leaders, you’ll also get to meet and learn from your sister StartHers and ScaleHers. Studies show that support from your peers is critical as a CEO looking to grow your business. We invite you to join us as we learn together, grow together, and celebrate each other’s successes.
Plus, you’ll want to stay on your toes, as you could be randomly selected for a special pitch competition. Where else could you have a chance to win thousands of dollars, just for the price of admission? The StartHer ScaleHer Pitch Perfect Competition will give 3 StartHers and 3 a platform to pitch their businesses, and then 1 new entrepreneur will walk home with $1,500 to start her business and 1 existing business owner will walk away with $2,500 to scale her business.
